Happy Memorial Day! We celebrated the memory of those that have served by attending the parade in Ludington. We love that little town!!
We had a great time at the beach and also at the Lindsay's beach (backyard pool). We discovered that hanging out in the backyard is much better because of the absence of sand. The beach is always a good time but the amount of sand that is in Dylan's diaper when we leave the beach is CRAZY.
Silly, silly boy!Gotta Love time with family!
These are the happenings of our little family. We are blogging so that we have record of the funny everyday things that happen. :)

Alligator Please!
Funny Dylan story that I forgot to type up last time (when I created this post) and the reason for the title of this post LOL! Dylan kept asking Roger for an Alligator and we seriously couldn't figure out what the heck he was talking about. Finally through toddler tears and stomping around the house I asked Dylan to show me where to get an Alligator. He took me to the garage and pointed out Daddy's GATORADE. LOLOLOLOL!
We had a wonderful weekend. Uncle Steve stopped to play with Dylan's caterpillar tunnel. Uncle Bri and Sarah made a surprise visit to Ludington. On Sunday I had a wonderful Mother's Day with my Bean.

This Mommy thing keeps getting better!
Nothing better than having your child love what you love. The other day Dylan started singing which was great in and of itself. Then I realized that he was singing, "Mamma Mia, here I go again, My My!" I have video...trying to figure out how to integrate it as I write :)
It has been so nice out lately. We have spent every moment that we can outdoors. Dylan loves his motorcycle.
We actually have to jog a little to keep up...he is so fast. Not surprised at all that he tries to go as fast as he can...that is pretty much how he lives his life.
Ellie is about ready to get his summer cut. He can hardly stand to be in the house because he is so hot all the time. Literally as soon as we open the door, he is OUT! I keep a steady supply of lunch meat to get him back in the house...yell turkey and he comes running!

Captain Terrific!
Dylan is convinced that he is captain terrific. I got a call on my way home tonight that he had washed his cape and he was flying around making sure that everything was safe. Glad to hear it. Now we need to watch a little less Imagination Movers.
He is full of imagination these days. Our little friend thinks that he is Shrek with a bucket on his head saving me, princess fiona, from the dragon. We play this little scene out a few times a day. We are noticing that he picks up dialogue from movies quite fast and then recites them as if it is a part of what he is doing. Today he was in time-out for about 10 minutes before we realized that the reason he was saying, "Shut up", was because it was a part of a line in Shrek. Needless to say it will be some time before he watches that movie again...and we are going to be much more careful from this point forward. I should have known this would happen when he was just 2 and re-enacting scenes from The Santa Clause in the mirror.
I am very much looking forward to this year winding down at work, the students move out on FRIDAY!!! I am excited to have such a flexible boss that is allowing me to work from home so much. That will be so nice during the summer with Roger and Dylan at home. I don't want to have to miss out on Dylan's funny adventures.

Random Thoughts from today....
1. Tic Tacs are good (or so I tell myself).
2. Collaboration makes me smile.
3. One of my friends will be a Doctor tomorrow. So proud of her.
4. One of my friends is moving back to MI on Friday. So excited!
5. Two of my favorite faculty friends are busted up.
6. My son is back on the Mama Mia kick. I think I know every line.
7. Although I miss my husband, if he comes home before Dylan goes to bed I might hurt him.
8. I get to see some of my very best friends this weekend.
9. My life is good.

Day 1...check
Today was nuts. I know I said I wasn't going to cook because of my fear of burning the house down, but Dylan asked so sweetly for some pancakes, please. I should have known better. I started making the flapjacks and the got lost in a phone conversation about the size of our deck. Next thing I knew there was smoke coming out of my kitchen. I had to get creative because Dylan wouldn't come inside, "It's too stinky!" We ate outside. Then we made a quick trip to Whitehall for some milk. First, I let Dylan walk in the store...that was neat...he thought that it was funny to kick his shoes off every 50 feet. When we finally got in the car and drove home the car turned off in the middle of the street. Thank goodness we were right in front of our house. Mom and Dad L were coming for a visit after Dylan's nap, but they called with car trouble in Muskegon, so we hopped in the car to go and pick them up. Mom came with us and Dad stayed to wait for the tow truck. Funny to have car trouble on both cars. Their truck is at a place in Whitehall and they drove my van to Ludington.
Daddy is gone for a few days....
A little worried about the next couple of days because I am going at this alone. At a first glance you wouldn't think that it would be all that bad, just a dog and one child. I tell you what...these two do a lot of tag-teaming. They gang up on me and before I know things are going crazy. Last time we tried this I burnt a pizza, the smoke detectors went off and the dog ran away. Lessons learned, we are eating pre-made meals (that I spent Saturday making). :) Updates might be sparing over the next couple of days...wish me luck!

Busy Week!
We are so happy to be to the weekend. This was a very busy week, by the end of it Rog and I were so tired that Dylan was telling us what to do to get him ready to go to day care. He got new rain boots which he wears all the time, no matter what, and is very disappointed when he can't find puddles to stomp in. We went out to eat last night and he, surprisingly, wore his rain boots. Our very sweet waitress asked him what animal was on his boots and he said, "A frog or a dinosaur, I not really sure." We will have to figure that out together so we have an answer.
Roger leaves on Sunday for his annual "Turkey Trip". I have to say that I am a little nervous about having Ellie and Dylan for 4 days by myself. They tag-team me for the hour between when Roger leaves for work and when I leave for work in the morning. I think I can......

Giving this a try...
Even though I am on my computer way too much as it is, I thought that starting a blog to capture our crazy life would be a good thing. These days Dylan is doing and saying far too many cute things for me to even keep track of so this will be an easy way to remember :)
