So glad to be outside...until the mosquitoes strike...

So with all of the rain lately our plants are doing amazing, the lawn is greener than ever before and the mosquitoes are hungry! We just keep moving so that we don't get as many bites. If anyone has a good suggestion on how to keep them away we are all ears!

Being the weekend warriors that we are, this was another busy and fabulous weekend! On Saturday we celebrated the wedding of Kelley and Troy in Grand Rapids. What a beautiful wedding and beautiful couple! Dylan spent the evening with Aunt Mary and cousin, Trace. The two boys had a great time together and we are looking forward to Trace staying with us for a few nights in a couple of weeks!

Cheese!!!
Enjoying the parade!

Standing and waving only lasted until Mom didn't have anymore snacks!

After the parade we went to the waterfront playground to play with all of our friends. It was really a lovely day on the lake!

Teaching Grayden bad tricks!

Careful it will stay like that!

Perfect!

REALLY HIGH!

Monday afternoon we went to play at Grandma and Grandpa B's house. It was over 90 degrees there so we got the hose out to play!

Perfect day!

The only picture missing is the one where he took the hose and sprayed himself at point blank range directly in the face...I was laughing so hard I couldn't get the picture quickly enough.

It was a perfect weekend, again! :)

Great week

I took Ellie and Dylan with me to Allendale today because, well, I am nuts. It was a crazy day but we had a ton of fun. It was Brandie's birthday AND baby shower. Dylan was telling everyone that we were going to have a baby shower but we wouldn't get water in the baby's eyes. :)

Dylan got a chance to play with Miss Mae. Sweet little girl :)

Dylan was mid sentence and fell asleep...I would say that he had a great time!

My friends/co-workers: Emily, Brandie, Suzy, and Leena

Happy Birthday and Happy Baby Brandie!

Happy Easter!

What a fantastic weekend! It was such a relaxing and wonderful weekend! The pictures speak for themselves :)

He is a proud little boy! Decorating Easter eggs ranks right up there with...eating...
So, we took a break from coloring eggs for a snack.
Ellie wasn't all that excited about the craziness that comes from lots of candy, so he took a nap.
Grandma and Grandpa helped Dylan look through the basket that they got for him.
Give the bubble maker a chance!
Grandma's cookies are beautiful and delicious!!!
We made a fort and were tricking people!
The eggs were everywhere!!!!!!!!!!

Sure chocolate first thing in the AM is good for you!
We had so much fun finding all of these eggs...the Easter Bunny knows how to hide 'em!
Dylan got all of us with his bubbles.
Everyone wants a piece of Uncle Stephen.
so much fun!
We had a great time with the cousins!
The weekend was PERFECT! Happy Easter to everyone!

What a resolution...

Right, so my resolution was to blog at least once a week. That clearly didn't work. I am re-committing now because I have so much fun reading my friend's blogs and want to share our story as well :) So, really, I am going to post once per week.

This spring is off to a crazy start, both the weather and all of the action in our lives. We are on the move with Dylan all the time. As soon as we get home we play outside and do all sorts of adventurous things.
We are getting very excited for the Easter Bunny to arrive. The next few pictures are of our crafts that we have been working on to get ready for the bunny.

Dylan, as you probably know, loves to dress up in costumes. He calls this one his Easter dress.
Happy Easter to you all!

Outdoor Fun!

This family loves to be outside, no matter the conditions out there. It is so much fun to play in the snow. We got season passes at the snow tubing park right by our house (at Double J) and literally spent the day there yesterday.

This past week was busy as always. I try to get as many pictures as possible but often picking up the camera is not in the cards as I am diving to save something from falling or Dylan from getting hurt. Who needs the gym when you have a 3 year old?

Dylan LOVES playing at "Aunt" Barb's (his child care provider). We feel so lucky to have such a wonderful place for him to play while we are at work.

Okay...New Year's Resolution...#1

I am making a resolution to post at least 1 time per week on this blog (I missed week one but who is counting). I just signed in after quite some time and LOVED reading about funny things going on in our lives.

I noticed that I wrote several times about limiting Dylan's movie watching, but the kid seriously loves movies so we use them as rewards for doing great things such as using the potty. :) You gotta start somewhere with potty training. Last night he said to me, "If you want to go out there and freeze to death, go ahead. Your on your own!" I was wondering what the heck he was talking about because I hadn't said anything about going outside. He said, "Mike says that." OHHHHH Monsters Inc. Got it!

We had the most wonderful Christmas this year. Lots of time with family and friends and rest...what we needed most of all. Another one of our resolutions, B-A-L-A-N-C-E, recognize what you can do, and put your time and energy in to doing it well. We are striving to live balanced for our family to enjoy every moment.
